As parents of premature and sick babies, being able to have your baby dressed is very special as it is one of the few ‘normal’ things that can be done for your new baby. We receive lots of queries from wonderful knitters and sewers who would like to help provide tiny items such as gowns, booties, cardigans, bonnets, etc for the babies in a Neonatal Intensive Care Units or Special Care Nurseries. We can help you by accepting your items on behalf of the NICUs around Australia. To help you, we have provided a couple of simple easy to follow patterns:
Knitted Teddy Bears
Each Memory Box given to a grieving family contains two lovingly handmade identical knitted teddy bears.
Memory Blanket and Pillow
Each Memory Box given to a grieving family contains two lovingly handmade identical blanket and pillows. One set for the family to wrap their baby in and the other to keep in the memory box provided.
Hospital Baby Gowns
Sewing pattern used widely in Australian NICUs and SCNs and provides small, medium and large sizing.

Label items if you would like them to be sent to a particular NICU within Australia. Every effort will be made to accommodate your wishes however should your chosen NICU not require items at that time, your items may be sent to a more needy NICU.

We do also accept items that require press studs to be sewn on them as we have volunteers who are able to help sew these on.
